Marked out shapes on the floor? Empty Marked out shapes on the floor?

In her book Sue tells us about the day where she, Tom and Byron were allowed to visit the library. There's a very moving part where she describes seeing an angular shape marked out on the floor where Dylan and Eric shot themselves and just knowing it was Dylan.
Only... I have never seen crime scene photos depicting what she describes? Am I blind? Dumb? Both??

The part circled was said to be fallout from when they were carrying out Eric's body. The big ass puddle was Dylan's blood and the reason why it's bigger than Eric's is because most of Eric's blood and brain matter had been splattered on the blood cases, ceiling and anything nearby since he used a sawed-off shotgun to get the job done for himself. Dylan relied on a shot to the temple which didn't kill him instantly and caused the wound more to bleed out than explode like Eric's. Dylan's per-say was "cleaner" than Eric's. I'm guessing they marked the floors at some point where the bodies were somehow or there was an impression from how long the bodies were left in the library to start decomposition. Jeffco was a mess and I wouldn't doubt it if they were messy with marking up the crime scene in the library as they were with outside. I may be just relaying shit you already knew lmao so I'm sorry for that. I just woke up. Either way, there could've been a faint impression in the carpet. The bodies weren't recovered until about 24 hours later.

Nevertheless, replies are always appreciated Very Happy
What Sue described sounded more like these cliché TV crime scene chalk outlines (http://tvtropes(.)org/pmwiki/pmwiki(.)php/Main/ChalkOutline), not them naturally leaving indents on the carpet from the weight of their bodies or leaked bodily fluids.
I might be wrong, though. It's been a while since I've last read it and I might just remember it wrong thus making this entire thread completely irrelevant... Razz  I just randomly remembered that passage when I stumbled across that photo and it made me stop and wonder...?

The visit to the library happened in June 1999, during a time when they had started renovations on the damage that Eric and Dylan had caused. The exact description Sue gives is as follows:
The police led us to the place where Eric and Dylan had shot themselves. My heart caught when I saw the long, lean, angular shape marked out on the floor. Of course that was Dylan; it looked just like him. My tears splashed the floor. Byron’s gentle hand was on my back as I knelt beside the shape resembling my son and touched the carpet that held him when he fell.

I doubt they went through the entire crime scene to remove all bodily fluids from the carpet, especially considering the fact that the library would be destroyed anyway, so the crime scene photos like the one shown above might be pretty close to how things looked when the families visited. Maybe a little bit cleaner (you'd hope so, but I have no faith left in JeffCo by this point), but I think there'd definitely be an impression of where the bodies had been and such. Perhaps the yellow markers shown in the photo were still there, because Sue also describes that the yellow policetape was still present on-scene as well. Chalk outlines are rarely used nowadays because they can contaminate a crime scene, so they tend to use these cards and markers on-scene instead. The big shape in the picture that we know is where Dylan's body was positioned does seem rectangular-ish to me.

Thank you, that answers my question! Always well informed as usual Smile
